Euklidova geometrija
Euklidova geometrija je geometrija izgrađena na aksiomama apsolutne geometrije i Euklidovom aksiomu („petom postulatu“) o paralelnim pravama: kroz tačku A koja ne leži na pravoj a, u ravni koja je određena tačkom A i pravom a, može se povući samo jedna prava koja ne seče pravu a.[1][2] Iako su mnogi Euklidovi rezultati već ranije bili navedeni,[3] Euklid je bio prvi koji je organizovao ove tvrdnje u logički sistem u kome se svaki rezultat dokazuje iz aksioma i prethodno dokazanih teorema.[4]
Euklidovu geometriju često nazivaju elementarna geometrija. Geometriju koja se izučava u srednjoj školi takođe nazivaju Euklidova geometrija i to je u vezi s činjenicom da je njenu prvu sistematsku izgradnju izložio starogrčki geometar Euklid u 3. veku p. n. e. u svojoj knjizi Elementi (v. Euklidovi Elementi).[5][6][7] Elementi počinju geometrijom ravni, koja se još uvek uči u srednjoj školi kao prvi aksiomatski sistem i prvi primeri matematičkih dokaza. Zatim se prelazi na čvrstu geometriju tri dimenzije. Veliki deo Elementa navodi rezultate onoga što se danas naziva algebra i teorija brojeva, objašnjene geometrijskim jezikom.[3]
Prva geometrija različita od Euklidove geometrije bila je geometrija Lobačevskog, koju je izgradio veliki ruski matematičar Lobačevski.[8][9] Više od dve hiljade godina, pridev „euklidski“ je bio nepotreban, jer su Euklidovi aksiomi izgledali toliko intuitivno očigledni (sa mogućim izuzetkom paralelnog postulata) da su se teoreme dokazane iz njih smatrale apsolutno tačnim, i stoga nijedna druga vrsta geometrije nije bila moguća. Danas su, međutim, poznate mnoge druge samodosledne neeuklidske geometrije, od kojih su prve otkrivene početkom 19. veka. Implikacija opšte teorije relativnosti Alberta Ajnštajna je da sam fizički prostor nije euklidski, a euklidski prostor je dobra aproksimacija za njega samo na malim udaljenostima (u odnosu na jačinu gravitacionog polja).[10]
Površina sfere[uredi | uredi izvor]
Površina sfere je drugačija reprezentacija neeuklidske geometrije. Ako najveće krugove sfere smatramo pravama njihova geometrija će zadovoljavati sve aksiome kako Euklidove, tako i geometrije Lobačevskog osim aksiome paralelnosti. Veliki krugovi sfere se uvek seku.
Eliptički aksiom[uredi | uredi izvor]
Eliptički aksiom: Kroz tačku koja ne leži na datoj pravoj ne prolaze nijedna prava koja s datom pravom leži u istoj ravni i ne seče ovu pravu.
- Posledica 1: Tri tačke koje leže na pravama, velikim krugovima sfere, formiraju trougao čiji je zbir uglova veći od 180°.
- Posledica 2: Povećanjem trougla raste njegov zbir unutrašnjih uglova.
- Posledica 3: Odnos obima i prečnika kruga manji je od π.
Geometrije bez aksiome paralelnosti naziva se Rimanova geometrija, ili Apsolutna geometrija.

Klasična logika[uredi | uredi izvor]
Euklid je često koristio metod dokazivanja protivrečnošću, te stoga tradicionalno predstavljanje Euklidove geometrije pretpostavlja klasičnu logiku, u kojoj je svaki iskaz bilo tačan ili netačan, tj. za bilo koji predlog P, predlog „P ili ne P” automatski je tačno.
Savremeni standardi rigoroznosti[uredi | uredi izvor]
Postavljanje euklidske geometrije na čvrstu aksiomatsku osnovu bila je preokupacija matematičara vekovima.[11] Ulogu primitivnih pojmova, ili nedefinisanih koncepata, jasno je izneo Alesandro Padoa iz Peanove delegacije na konferenciji u Parizu 1900. godine:[11][12]
... kad počnemo da formulišemo teoriju, možemo da zamislimo da su nedefinisani simboli potpuno lišeni značenja i da su nedokazani predlozi jednostavno uslovi nametnuti nedefinisanim simbolima.
Tada je sistem ideja koji smo u početku izabrali jednostavno jedno tumačenje nedefinisanih simbola; ali..ovo tumačenje čitatelj može zanemariti i slobodno ga u svom umu zameniti drugim tumačenjem .. koje zadovoljava uslove ...
