ОписA tourist checks out the plaques inside the library (16128888219).jpg
While I did not venture into the main hall of the library, I peeked into it from the impressive verandah and spotted this lone tourist checking out the plaques in the niches of the walls within the library. The scrolls of various manuscripts were kept in cupboards in niches on the walls of the library. There were double walls behind the bookcases to prevent the them from the extremes of temperature and humidity. The capacity of the library was more than 12,000 scrolls. The Library of Celcius was once the third richest library in ancient times after the Alexandra and Pergamum. (Ephesus (Efes)/ Selcuk, Kusadasi, Turkey, Nov. 2014)
