Ornithorhynchidae је једна од две савремене породице из реда кљунара (лат. Monotremata). Једини припадник ове породице данас је врста платипус (Ornithorhynchus anatinus); али у њу спадају и његови изумрли рођаци. Платипус живи у источној Аустралији и Тасманији^[1].

Класификација породице

У породици Ornithorhynchidae постоје два рода: Obdurodon и Ornithorhynchus:

Породица Ornithorhynchidae
- Род †Obdurodon
  - †Obdurodon dicksoni
  - †Obdurodon insignis
  - †Obdurodon sudamericanum
- Род Ornithorhynchus
  - Ornithorhynchus anatinus (платипус)
  - †Ornithorhynchus maximus

Још два рода, Steropodon и Teinolophos, могу се сврстати у Ornithorhynchidae. Како год, оба рода су веома стара, и научна лиитература показује да су они веома слични, али не и део породице Ornithorhynchidae.
