Neopaganizam
Neopaganizam,[1] takođe poznat kao savremeni paganizam[2] i moderni paganizam, predstavlja moderne rekonstrukcije prehrišćanskih religija i spiritualnih pravaca. Primjeri su vika i neodruidizam. Iako imaju sličnosti, savremeni paganski vjerski pokreti su različiti i nemaju isti skup vjerovanja, običaja ili tekstova.[3] Većina akademika koji proučavaju ovaj fenomen tretiraju ga kao pokret koji je podeljen na različite religije; drugi ga karakterišu kao jedinstvenu religiju čije su različite paganske vjere denominacije.
Današnji neopaganski pokreti uglavnom baziraju svoja vjerovanja na saživljenju sa prirodom i božanstvom koje jeste totalnost svega što jeste. Međutim, to nije slučaj sa svim oblicima paganskih vjerovanja — prošlih i sadašnjih. Neki vjeruju u brojna božanstva, dok drugi smatraju da jedinstveni podsvjesni duh u svemu živom jeste univerzalno božanstvo. Paganizam bismo danas, u kratkim crtama, mogli definisati kao sva ona vjerovanja koja izlaze iz okvira osnovnih dogmatskih principa avramskih tradicija (judaizma, hrišćanstva i islama). Stvari se komplikuju oko utvrđivanja šta ulazi u avramsku tradiciju budući da su za muslimane i određeni broj protestantskih crkava Božić i Uskrs neavramski, odnosno paganski, zbog povezanosti sa prastarim svetkovanjima dugodnevica i ravnodnevica).
Termin je nastao dodavanjem prefiksa neo- (koji znači novi ili novo) na koren paganizam kojim se nazivaju sve preavramske odnosno neavramske religije i verovanja.
