Regional Divisions of the Chest. Before entering on the study of physical exploration,the student should become acquainted with the divisionsof the surfaces of the anterior, posterior, and lateralaspects of the chest into circumscribed spaces which arecalled regions. These divisions, deriving their bound-aries and names from their anatomical relations, aresufficiently simple. Anteriorly the chest is divided into regions as follows:The supra- or post-clavicular region extends from theclavicle upward a short distance, corresponding to the REGIONAL DIVISIONS OF THE CHEST. 35 Fig.1.
