Română: Lunca Bivolilor era o pășune urbană în partea de est a Cluj-Napoca, la est de strada Pata(azi Bulevardul Nicolae Titulescu). Studenții, conduși de Lajos Vermes, au înfiinţat primul teren de fotbal din Cluj-Napoca in 1896. Până în 1903 aici se desfășurau meciuri de fotbal. In 1903, șeful poliției locale a interzis activitatea de fotbal pe Lunca Bivolilor pe motiv că fotbaliștii călcă în picioare iarba turmei de bivoli.
English: Lunca Bivolilor was an urban pasture in the eastern part of Cluj-Napoca, east of Pata Street (today Nicolae Titulescu Boulevard). The students, led by Lajos Vermes, set up the first football field in Cluj-Napoca in 1896. Until 1903, football matches were held here. In 1903, the local police chief banned the football activity on Lunca Bivolilor on the grounds that the footballers were trampling the grass of the buffalo herd. |
