Едвард Џејмс Хјуз (рођен 17. августа 1930. — умро 28. октобра 1998. ) је био енглески песник и дечји писац, познат каоТед Хјуз. Критичари су га убрајали у најбоље песнике своје генерације.[1] Хјуз је био британски писац лауреат од 1984. па све до своје смрти.

Хјуз је био ожењен британском песникињом Силвијом Плат, од 1956. до њене смрт.[2] Убила се 1963. у 30-ој години живота.

2008., Тајмс је поставио Хјуза на четврто место њихове листе „50 најбољих британских писаца после 1945“..[3]

22. марта 2010. је било објавњено да ће Хјуз добити место у Вестминстерској опатија.[4]
