Luis Guverner Moris II (engl. Lewis Gouverneur Morris II; rođen 4. juna 1882, umro 14. avgusta 1967) bio je američki bankar i značajna ličnost u Njujorku i Njuportskom društvu.[1]

Detinjstvo i mladost[uredi | uredi izvor]

Moris je rođen 4. juna 1882. godine u Njuportu u Roud Ajlandu. On je bio sin Frensisa Morisa (1845-1883) i Heriet Hol Moris (1849-1923).[2] Nakon očeve smrti, njegova majka se udala za Džona Reksa Gelf-Normana (1861-1932), koji je tvrdio da je on sin kralja Edvarda VII i da je on naslednik njegovog prestola[3] u 1898. godini.[4] Heriet Hol i Džon Reks Gelf-Norman su se razveli nakon što je Heriet otkrila da je Džon već imao ženu u Indiji.[5][6]

Njegovi baba i deda od strane oca bili su Luis G. Moris[7][8] i Emili Moris (1839-1850).[9][10] Morisevi baba i deda od strane majke bili su Henri Bedlou (1821-1914) i Džosefina Marija Bedlou (1831-1896). Moris je bio prvi rođak Emili Lorijard Moris (rođena 1873),[11] koja je se udala za Rolaza Horejsa Gajatina (umro 1948),[12][13] rođaka Alberta Judžina Gajatina i sestrića Komodora Elbridža Tomasa Gerija, u aprilu 1896. godine.[14]

Moris je diplomirao iz Univerziteta Harvard 1906. godine.[15][16]

Moris je bio bivši član Njujorške berze.[17]

1915. godine, Moris je organizovao firmu za investiranje po imenu "Moris i papa."[18] Proleća, 1917. godine, firma je propala i to je ostavilo Morisa u velikim dugovima.[19] Moris je bio zatvorenik u Okrugu Vestčester od 18. juna 1921. do 5. oktobra 1921.[1] kao dužnik.[15] Bio je pušten iz zatvora kao pošteni nesolventni dužnik.[1][19]

Nakon propadanja njegove firme 1917. godine, Moris nije više ulazio u svet biznisa.[15]

Moris je bio poverenik Muzeja grada Njujorka.[1]
