The Template:Rndhands rounds an amount in horse hands to the nearest half-inch, such as 15.3¹⁄₂ hands. The input amount (parameter 1) is a measurement in hands with fractional decimal places, such as 14 hands with 2.56 inches as 14.256. Examples:

• {{rndhands|14.256}} → 14.2¹⁄₂
• {{rndhands|14.288}} → 14.3
• {{rndhands|12.02}}   → 12
• {{rndhands|15.385}} → 16

For amounts with fraction ¹⁄₂, the fraction portion is formatted by Template:Frac.
