Vim Mertens (14. maj 1953) belgijski je kompozitor, muzikolog i pevač.

On svira klavir i klasičnu gitaru, a peva karakteristično visokim glasom. Od 1980. pretežno se bavi komponovanjem, a najpoznatije mu je delo "Struggle for Pleasure".

Mertensov stil je evoluirao od avangarde i eksperimentalne muzike ka minimalizmu. Završio je političke i društvene nauke u Levenu, a muzikologiju u Gentu. Izdao je preko 50 albuma

Napisao je knjigu "Američka minimalistička muzika" u kojoj analizira rad La Montija Janga, Terija Rajlija, Stiva Rajša i Filipa Glasa.
