Pajn Barens (Nju Džerzi)
Pajn Barens (engl. Pine Barrens) je šumom pokrivena površina koja se proteže preko više od sedam okruga u Nju Džerziju. Ovo područje je takođe i poznato po retkim biljnim vrstama. Tamo raste i retka vrsta drveta Pinus rigida.
Močvare u ovom području su nekada bile pune gvožđa koje se nalazilo u potocima, barama, vodenim putevima i u brojnim pećinama. Ovde rastu borovi koji su manji od 120 centimetara. U ovom području su požari česti. Međutim, postoje i hrastove šume gde su požari retka pojava. Ovde raste preko 850 vrsti biljaka, od kojih se 92 smatraju retkima i ugroženima. Ovde živi preko 39 vrsti sisara, preko 300 vrsta ptica, 59 vrsti vodozemaca i gmizavaca i 91 vrste riba. Ovo je navodno dom legendarnog stvorenja Džerziskog đavola[1][2][3][4][5].
