N6-Metiladenozin (m6A ) je često prisutan u iRNK i prisutan je u nekim virusima,[1][2] i većini eukariota uključujući sisare,[3][4][5][6] insekte,[7] biljke[8][9][10] i kvasce.[11][12] On je takoše nađen u tRNK, rRNK, i snRNK kao i u nekoliko dugo kodirajućih RNK, poput Xist.[13][14]
