Wikipedia has many rules. Instead of following every rule, it is acceptable to '''use [[common sense]]''' as you go about editing. Even if a contribution "violates" the precise wording of a rule, it might still be a good contribution. Similarly, just because something is not forbidden in a written document, or is even explicitly permitted, doesn't mean it's a good idea in the given situation. Exhorting another editor to "just use common sense" is likely to be taken as insulting, for good reasons. If in a particular case you feel that literally following a rule harms the encyclopedia, or that doing something which the rules technically allow degrades it, then instead of telling someone who disagrees to use common sense, cite [[Wikipedia:Ignore all rules]] and explain why doing so will improve Wikipedia in that instance.

Be careful about citing this principle too aggressively. While it's quite acceptable to explain your own actions by saying, "it seemed like [[WP:COMMON|common sense]] to me," you should be careful not to imply that other editors are ''lacking'' in common sense, which may be seen as [[Wikipedia:Civility|uncivil]]. [[Wikipedia:Wikipedians|Wikipedian]]s come from diverse ethnic, religious, political, cultural and ideological backgrounds and have vastly different perceptions regarding everything from science to shoe shopping. Other editors are likely to ascribe very different meanings and values to words and concepts than you, so try to state your arguments as fully as possible. Citing concrete [[WP:policies and guidelines|policies and guidelines]] is likely to be more effective than simply citing "common sense" and leaving it at that.

„Игнориши сва правила“ је једно од основних начела Википедије. Ово је допунска страна, направљена да би се избегла погрешна тумачења тог начела.

Не треба да осећате обавезу да прочитате ово, или било које друго правило, пре него што почнете да доприносите Википедији. Уколико радите оно што мислите да је разумно, углавном ћете бити у праву, а ако не, грешке се лако дају исправити. То је добро, зато што их сви ми правимо. Без обзира на то колико је грешка велика, стара верзија остаје у историји ревизија и без проблема се може вратити. Уколико као резултат наиђемо на неслагање, разговараћемо о томе разумно и љубазно, па ћемо схватити шта нам је чинити. Због тога не брините, будите одважни, и уживајте у доприношењу прављења слободне енциклопедије.

  3. Правила имају своју снагу принуде, не због тога што су записана на страни названој „смернице“ или „политика“, већ зато што су одраз заједничких мишљења и знања великог броја добрих уређивача. (види и Википедија:Консензус)
  4. Правила су на крају крајева описна, а не прописана, и понекад заостају за практичним стварима које описују. (види и Википедија:Резултат, процес, политика)
  5. Викиадвокатура не функционише. Рупе у закону и формализам не постоје на Викију. Википедија није ни збор правника, ни nomic, ни Мао.
  6. Дух правила адутира оно што пише у тексту правила. Уобичајена сврха прављења енциклопедије адутира оба.
  7. Придржавање правила је мање битно од коришћења доброг расуђивања и настојања да се буде промишљен и пажљив. (види и Википедија:Учтивост)

  1. „Игнориши сва правила“ не значи да је сваки поступак оправдан. Оно није адут у картама.
  2. „Игнориши сва правила“ не значи да не можете да некоме укажете на правило које је прекршио, али имајте на уму да је њихов суд можда исправан. (види и Википедија:Претпоставите најбољу намеру)
  3. „Игнориши сва правила“ није одговор уколико вас неко пита због чега сте прекршили неко правило. Већина правила проистиче из пажљивог размишљања и постоји из веома добрих разлога; због тога се могу кршити само из добрих разлога.
