Karen Gusof (engl. Caren Gussoff; rođena 16. februara 1973) je američka književnica fantastike, spekulativnih romana i kratkih priča.

Rođena je 16. februara 1973. u Njujorku, romskog je porekla.[1] Završila je Univerzitet Kolorado u Boulderu, Institut umetnosti u Čikagu i Radionicu pisaca Clarion West gde je 2008. godine dobila Memorijalnu stipendiju Oktavija Batlera.[1] Nakon objavljivanja prvog romana Homecoming 2000. je nominovana za The Village Voice. Njena druga knjiga The Wave and Other Stories je sadržala novelu pod uticajem The Waves Virdžinije Vulf. Njen treći roman The Birthday Problem je postapokaliptička naučna fantastika, priča o zaraznoj mentalnoj bolesti. Ostale njene fikcije i eseji su antologizovane od strane Serpent's Tail, Seal Press i Prime Books. Autorka je Writing Fiction: The Practical Guide.[2] Kombinovala je naučnu fantastiku i komediju u romanima 2000—2005. Dobitnica je nagrade The Village Voice 2001, stipendije Guliverove fondacije za spekulativnu književnost 2009.[3] i nagrade Elizabet Džordž 2010.[4] Trenutno živi u Sijetlu.[5] Godine 2020. je počela da koristi udato prezime Sumption u svom radu, tako da publikacije objavljuje kao Karen Gusof i Karen Gusof Sumption.[5]
