Heptan (takođe poznat i pod nazivom dipropil metan ili heptil hidrid) je ugljovodonik iz grupe alkana sa molekulskom formulom CH3(CH2)5CH3. Postoji devet izomera heptana:

  • n-Heptan
  • 2-Metil heksan
  • 3-Metil heksan
  • 2,2-Dimetil pentan
  • 2,3-Dimetil pentan
  • 2,4-Dimetil pentan
  • 3,3-Dimetil pentan
  • 3-Etil pentan
  • 2,2,3-Trimetil butan

Izomer n-heptan se može naći u nafti. On je veoma zapaljiv, i u dodiru sa vatom izaziva eksploziju.
