Al Ram (arap. الرّام) je grad u Palestini, na Zapadnoj obali reke Jordana, koji se nalazi severoistočno od Jerusalima, u blizini opštinske granice. Naselje je deo izgrađenog gradskog dela Jerusalima, industrijska zona Atarot i Bet Hanina su na zapadu, a sa Neve Jakovom graniči se na jugu.[1] Površina građevinskog zemljišta je 3.289 dunuma. Prema Palestinskom Državnom zavodu za statistiku grad je 2006. imao 25.595 stanovnika.[2] Šef mesnog veća u Al Ramu procenjuje da tamo živi 58.000 ljudi, od kojih više od polovine poseduje lične karte Izraela.[3]
Doba Britanskog mandata nad Palestinom
[uredi | uredi izvor]U vreme popisa stanovništva u Palestini (1922) koji su sprovele vlasti britanskog mandata, Al Ram je imao 208 stanovnika, od kojih su svi bili muslimani.[4] do sledećeg popisa stanovništva u Palestini (1931) taj broj je porastao na 262, od kojih su svi bili muslimani koji su živeli u 51 domaćinstvu.[5] Al Ram je teško postradao u zemljotresu 1927.[6]
Prema statističkim podacima o selima Palestine, koje je prikupila vlada Britanskog mandata nad Palestinom (1945), populacija Er Rama je dostigla broj od 350, a i dalje su svi bili muslimani,[7] dok je površina zemlje koja je pripadala selu bila 5.598 dunama.[8] Za plantaže i zemljište koje je navodnjavano korišćeno je 441 dunuma, a za žitarice 2.291,[9] dok je 14 dunuma bilo građevinsko zemljište (pod kućama).[10]
