Jaroslav Jan Pelikan (engl. Jaroslav Jan Pelikan; 1923 — 2006) je bio američki patrolog i istoričar hrišćanstva slovačkog porekla. Bio je dugo godina luteranski pastor (sveštenik), ali je u poznim godinama prešao na pravoslavlje.

Pelikan se rodio u porodici sa slovenskim korenima: otac je bio Slovak, a majka Srpkinja. Otac mu je imao čin pastora, a deda je bio episkop Slovačke luteranske crkve u SAD. Već kao dete je pokazao izuzetne jezičke sposobnosti (savladao je desetak jezika), a rano je naučio i pisati na pisaćoj mašini.
Školovao se na luteranskoj bogosloviji „Konkordija“ u Sent Luisu (gde je promovisan u čin pastora Luteranske crkve) i mičigenskom univerzitetu, gde je u 22 godini postao doktor filozofije. Zatim se bavio izučavanjem i predavanjem hrišćanske teologije i patristike. Autor je više od trideset knjiga na navedenu tematiku, uključujući i petotomno delo „The Christian Tradition: A History of the Development of Doctrine“ (1971—1989). Od 1962. do 1996, radio je na jelskom univerzitetu kao profesor crkvene istorije.
Pelikan je bio urednik religijskog sadržaja Enciklopedije Britanika, a 1980. godine je osnovao Savet naučnika pri biblioteci Kongresa SAD-a. Dobio je 42 počasna doktorata na univerzitetima širom sveta. Predsednik SAD-a Bil Klinton imenovao je profesora Pelikana na dužnost predsednika odbora za kulturu i humanističke nauke.
Godine 1998, zajedno sa svojom suprugom Silvijom prešao je na pravoslavlje. Godine 2004. dobio je Klugeovu nagradu za postignuća u oblasti humanističkih nauka. Novčani deo nagrade u iznosu od 500 000 dolara darovao je pravoslavnoj Bogosloviji svetog Vladimira u Njujorku.
