Religijska denominacija
Religijska denominacija (ili prosto denominacija) je podgrupa unutar neke religije, koja deluje pod zajedničkim imenom, tradicijom i identitetom.
Izraz se često koristi da opiše razne hrišćanske denominacije (na primer, pravoslavlje, rimokatolicizam, i mnoge varijacije protestantizma ili restoracionizma). Takođe se koristi da opiše četiri grane judaizma (ortodoksni, konzervativni, reformski i rekonstruistički), i (ređe, ali takođe ispravno) za opisivanje dve glavne grane islama (sunitski i šiitski[1][2]) kao i razne potpodele kao što su podsekte,[3] škole prava,[4] teoloških škola[5] i verskih pokreta.[6][7]
Najveća svetska verska denominacija je sunitski islam.[8][9][10][11]
Hrišćanstvo[uredi | uredi izvor]
Hrišćanska denominacija je generički termin za posebno religiozno telo identifikovano osobinama kao što su zajedničko ime, struktura, vođstvo i doktrina. Pojedinačna tela, međutim, mogu koristiti alternativne termine da opisuju sebe, kao što su crkva ili zajedništvo. Podele između jedne i druge grupe definisane su doktrinom i crkvenim autoritetom; pitanja kao što su biblijsko tumačenje, autoritet apostolskog nasleđa, eshatologija i papski primat često odvajaju jednu denominaciju od druge. Grupe denominacija koje često dele slična verovanja, prakse i istorijske veze poznate su kao ogranci hrišćanstva.

In Hinduism, the major deity or philosophical belief identifies a denomination, which also typically has distinct cultural and religious practices. The major denominations include Shaivism, Shaktism, Vaishnavism and Smartism.
Islam[uredi | uredi izvor]
Jedan iscrpni izveštaj Pjuovog istraživačkog centra sugeriše da se 25% anketiranih muslimana globalno identifikuje kao nedenominacioni muslimani.[12] Istorijski gledano, islam je bio podeljen na tri velike sekte dobro poznate kao suniti, haridžiti i šiiti. Danas suniti čine oko 90% ukupne muslimanske populacije, dok su šiiti oko 10%.[13] Danas su mnoge šiitske sekte izumrle. Glavne preživele imamsko-muslimanske sekte su usulizam (sa skoro više od 8,5%), nizatski ismajilizam (sa skoro više od 1%), alevizam (sa nešto više od 0,5%[14] ali manje od 1%[15]). Druge postojeće grupe uključuju zaidski šiiti iz Jemena čija populacija čini skoro 0,5% muslimanske populacije u svetu, mustalski ismajili (sa skoro 0,1%[16] čiji pristalice Tejabi žive u državi Gudžarat u Indiji i gradu Karači u Pakistanu. Takođe postoje značajne populacije dijaspore u Evropi, Severnoj Americi, Dalekom istoku i Istočnoj Africi[17]), i Ibadi od haridžita čija se populacija smanjila na nivo ispod 0,15%. S druge strane, nove muslimanske sekte poput afroameričkih muslimana, ahmadskih muslimana[18] (sa skoro 1%[19]), nedenominacionih muslimana, kuranstički musliman[20] ukupne svetske muslimanske populacije) kasnije su se samostalno razvijale.

Termin „višedenominacija“ može da opiše (na primer) verski događaj koji uključuje nekoliko verskih denominacija iz ponekad nepovezanih verskih grupa. Mnogi građanski događaji uključuju verske delove koje predvode predstavnici nekoliko verskih denominacija kako bi bili što inkluzivniji ili reprezentativni za očekivanu populaciju ili publiku. Na primer: nedeljna misa zahvalnosti u Kampamento Esperanci (engleski: Kamp Houp) u Čileu, gde su službe predvodili i rimokatolički sveštenik i evangelistički propovednik tokom rudarske nesreće u Kopijapou u Čileu 2010. godine.[21][22]
Kapelani - često zaređeno sveštenstvo bilo koje religije - često se dodeljuju sekularnim organizacijama kako bi pružili duhovnu podršku njihovim članovima koji mogu pripadati bilo kojoj od mnogih različitih religija ili denominacija. Mnogi od ovih kapelana, posebno oni koji služe u vojsci ili drugim velikim sekularnim organizacijama, posebno su obučeni da služe pripadnicima mnogih različitih vera, čak i veroispovesti sa suprotstavljenom verskom ideologijom od one vere samog kapelana.[23]
Vojne organizacije koje nemaju veliki broj članova iz nekoliko pojedinačnih manjih, ali srodnih denominacija, rutinski će održavati višedenominacijske verske službe, koje se često generički nazivaju „protestantske“ nedeljne službe, tako da manjinske protestantske denominacije nisu izostavljene ili neobslužene.[24]
