Geografija[uredi | uredi izvor]
Opseg[uredi | uredi izvor]
More je duboko 5.140 metres (16.860 feet).[3] Međunarodna hidrografska organizacija (IHO) definiše more Flores kao jednu od voda Istočnoindijskog arhipelaga. IHO definiše njegove granice na sledeći način:[9]
Na severu. Južna obala Celebesa [Sulavesi] od zapadne tačke zaliva Lajkang (5° 37′ S 119° 30′ E / 5.617° J; 119.500° I) do Tandžong Lase (120°28'E).
Na istoku. Zapadna granica Bandskog mora između Floresa[10] i Celebesa [linija od severne tačke Floresa (8° 04′ S 122° 52′ E / 8.067° J; 122.867° I) do ostrva Kalaotoa (7° 24′ S 121° 52′ E / 7.400° J; 121.867° I) i kroz lanac ostrva koji leže između njega i južne tačke Pulo Salajara, kroz ovo ostrvo i preko moreuza do Tandžong Lase, Celebes (5° 37′ S 120° 28′ E / 5.617° J; 120.467° I).
Na jugu. Severne obale Floresa, Komoda, Banta i linija do Tandžong Naroe, severoistočne tačke Soembave,[11] odatle duž njene severne obale do Tandžong Sarokaje (8° 22′ S 117° 10′ E / 8.367° J; 117.167° I).
Na zapadu. Linija od Tg Sarokaja do ostrva Zapadni Paternoster (7° 26′ S 117° 08′ E / 7.433° J; 117.133° I) odatle do severoistočnog ostrva Postiljon (6° 33′ S 118° 49′ E / 6.550° J; 118.817° I) i do zapadne tačke zaliva Lajkang, Celebes.
