Mauro Ferari (ital. Mauro Ferrari; rođen 7. jula 1960) je italijanski nanonaučnik[1] i akademik, inostrani član sastava Srpske akademije nauka i umetnosti od 8. novembra 2018.[2]
Biografija[uredi | uredi izvor]
Završio je osnovne studije matematike na Univerzitetu Padova 1985, magistraturu i doktorat iz mehaničkog inženjerstva na Univerzitetu Kalifornije 1989.[3][4][5] i osnovne studije medicine na Državnom univerzitetu Ohajo 2004. godine.[2] Radio je kao asistent na Univerzitetu Kalifornije od 1991, kao vanredni profesor od 1996, kao redovni profesor na Državnom univerzitetu Ohajo od 1998, kao predsednik i izvršni direktor na Metodist istraživačkom institutu u Hjustonu, kao predsednik Evropskog istraživačkog saveta od 2020.[6] i kao specijalni stručnjak za nanotehnologiju na Nacionalnom institutu za rak 2003—2005. i imao je ključnu ulogu u uspostavljanju alijansa za nanotehnologiju u raku 2004.[7][8][9][10][11] Glavni je urednik Biomedical Microdevices: BioMEMS and Biomedical Nanotechnology.[2] Inostrani je član Nacionalne akademije nauka Republike Italije, Evropske akademije nauka, Papske akademije za život, Američkog instituta za medicinsko i biološko inženjerstvo od 2008, Američkog udruženja za unapređenje nauke od 2009, Američkog instituta za medicinsko i biološko inženjerstvo, Američkog društva mašinskih inženjera, Američkog fizičkog društva, Američkog udruženja za istraživanje raka, Društva za kontrolisano oslobađanje od 2011,[12] Društva za biomedicinsko inženjerstvo i Međunarodno društvo za biomedicinsku nanotehnologiju.[2] Dobitnik je nagrade osnivača Društva za kontrolisano oslobađanje 2011, počasnog doktorata Univerziteta u Palermu 2012, medalje Blez Paskal Evropske akademije nauka 2012, počasnog doktorata Univerziteta u Napulju 2014, medalje Aurel Stodola 2015.[13] i počasnog doktorata Univerziteta Sent Tomasa 2017. godine.[2] Svoju prvu suprugu je upoznao dok su studirali na Univerzitetu u Padovi i preselili su se u Berkli. Dok je studirao na Univerzitetu Kalifornije supruga mu je preminula od raka.[3][4][5] Ponovo se oženio u Italiji 1995. godine, zajedno imaju petoro dece, uključujući dva para blizanaca.[3][4]

Objavio je više od 350 publikacija, uključujući sedam knjiga i 41 patent u Sjedinjenim Američkim Državama i Evropi. Juna 2020. godine je sa kolegama iz laboratorije povukao publikacije iz časopisa Science Advances zbog različitih dupliranja slika koje sugerišu moguće naučno pogrešno ponašanje.[14]
