SR 59230A је селективни антагонист бета-3 адренергичког рецептора.^[3]^[4]^[5] Он исто тако делује на α₁ адреноцепторима при високим дозама.^[6] Он блокира хипертермију произведену путем МДМА у животињским студијама.^[7]
